"In a world that has begun to believe that financial profit is the only religion, sometimes not wanting money is more frightening to capitalist society than acts of terrorism."

How many planets do you require?
Very interesting to put things in perspective. Even me, Mr. Environment lives a lifestyle that requires 4.2 Earths if everyone lived the same way as me. Sad, isn't it?
phuuuuck...so what do i do? sell all my stuff (really only a bachelor apartment full, but i'm livin' the high life compared to most others in the world) and sleep in the streets? what's the alternative in the west? what do we dooooooooooooo???? why are we reduced to sit and wait for earth to open up, chew us up and spit us out (as she's already done and continues to do)...
or is that alarmist / fatalistic thinking? but we have to start somewhere and make changes, but recycling our bottles and using less electricity at home isn't a macro enough change godammit.
ahhhhhhhhhhhh
okay i am way too tired to think clearly. zzz timez for moi.
3.5 earths to sustain me, I thought I was better than that. Seems that me eating meat and/or dairy every day makes a big difference. My total ecological footprint is 6 vs the average of 8.8. Compared to the number of hectares actually available that is still way to high. If I cut my meat intake and dairy down and moved into an apartment I would only need 2.4 planets. Calgarians in general would rock this quiz off the charts in the wrong direction. Everyone and their flipping mansions in the burbs. Interesting quiz, thanks for posting it Reid!
I only need 2.9 planets, and am not even trying. I am eating meat often, use electricity. Maybe it is that I am housing 2 people on only 100 square meters or it must be the difference in fuel consumption of our cars.....
It appears the housing thing does make up a lot of the excess. Lots of land used, lot of heat and waste generated, I guess. We're used to living large in North America, d'oh....

1.9 planets biatch! If I got ride of my car I'd be way down. I'm weeks away from that, wish me luck selling it.
Way to go, Jon. The fact you're a vegetarian helps out IMMENSELY. I suspect I could get rid of at least two planets if I quit eating meat.

Jesus. I thought I was doing ok! But while I'm not as bad as Skybar, I could never be as good as Jon.
Did you hear, Reid? I am doing a 150 mile ride!
