Whew....I finally get to sit down and post a few lines (snort a few lines?). The weekend was a lot of fun. We started off early on Friday evening at The Ship and Anchor for Kevin "Goat" MacGuish's farewell party. He has been the Events Coordinator for the Alberta Bicycle Association and has just accepted a new position with CycleBC based in Vancouver -- I so jealous, heah! -- He's pretty excited and I wish him all the best. I was the first one to show up when he got there so we got to have a good one-on-one conversation about cycling, the state of the world and stuff.
Jon, Kevin, Annette
After a few pints at the Ship, Jon, Alanis and myself headed home to get ready for the Masquerade Ball at Outlaws featuring a two-room DJ set featuring none other that Roy Davis Jr. Jon and Alanis dressed up as Willy Wonka and (drunk) Carol Burnett, while I simply got glittered with a silver mask and jacket. Joe was a stick in the mud all weekend and didn't get dressed up. Boo-urns!
Alanis as Carol Burnett with a doting fan. Where is Willy Wonka?
Roy Davis Jr. played a fantastic Chicago House set throughout the evening and we spent most of the time on the dance floor. Unfortunately we were the only ones most of the time. The place was virtually empty. I realize that there were a lot of other things going on in town on Friday (including the Rolling Stones), but c'mon people! Eh - Jon has analyzed this situation quite well here. Got home late and slept in.
Boo! Scary! Eek! Outlaws!
Joe and I did some cleaning in the early afternoon and we had to curl at 4:30. Both Aaron and Tim couldn't curl this weekend, so Joe spared and we managed to get Darren Stolz to curl with us as well. Needless to say we kicked some major ass again (10-0 in six ends) and we're sitting at the top of the Prince league at 4-0! It was Joe's first time curling in over 20 years, and I must say, he did VERY well. His draw weight was fantastic, he just needs some practice on his aim.
We got home after curling and started getting ready. Doug, Jeff, Jeanette and Rhylee came over for a visit and we had some laughs and prayers getting ready for the evening. We headed over to Curtis' place around 11pm and had a few more drinks before heading to Pulse. Jeff headed home before the bar as did Ryan, and Curtis and Dartin/Martin came with us. Doug, Joe, Curtis and I danced all night again (pretty lubricated up by this time) and met up with Pat at the bar as well. We got home late....
Doug the Oil Shiek, Jeff as Betty Butterfield, and yours truly as the Unholy One
Jeanette and Rhylee the Tiger
Sunday, Joe had to picket (and by the way, the Union vote was a 50.3% 'NO' vote, so they're going to be stuck in a strike (or lockout, based on whatever side you're listening to) for awhile longer, as Telus has indicated they are not coming back to the bargaining table anytime soon). Ryan Y. ended up calling me in the early afternoon wanting to go out, so we ended up at the Ship & Anchor again. Jon and Alanis met us after they were done shopping and we quaffed some more there. Ryan came over to our house after and he, Joe and I drank some more and watched the 'Family Guy: Stewie's Adventure' DVD -- again.
This week is crazy busy again. Last night was Cheryl-Lee's '23rd' birthday, so we had some drinks in her honor at the Bungalow. It was fun, but I had intended to go home early as I was still wiped from the weekend and the stupid time change. Got home at 9pm and vegged. I received two recent eBay winnings on Friday and Monday, a DVD with ALL of Sheena Easton's videos and a double CD of most of her dance remixes from 1983-1997. Of course, this was all *ahem* of questionable copyright, and the DVD is all VHS video capture (some of those early 80s videos are in bad shape), however I was happy to have a long-overdue little Sheena fix.
I was going to pick up "Star Wars III" today, but decided not to. There is no Future Shop or Best Buy downtown, and they've both been heavily advertising the DVD for $19.99 for quite awhile. All there is downtown is a shitty HMV and expensive Play, and they were both selling it for $26.99. Screw them! I'll wait.
Today I received my very first on-line grocery order from Pic N' Del. They're affiliated with the Calgary Co-op, and for a measly $10 fee, they will deliver your groceries right to your door. Awesome. I will totally start using them on a regular basis for big shopping orders. Also tonight I am still chipping away at the Synergy Cash Budgets and Balance Sheets. We need to get this done for the Alberta Government Corporate Registries, so we can maintain our Non-profit incorporated status and be eligible for Casino money. It's gonna be a lot of work and I'm trying to get the Cash Budgets at least done by Friday (the Synergy AGM). The Balance sheets are going to be a bit more work, since some of the expenses are double charged in certain places and I have to figure out where. It's worth it though. For our last casino in July, having the team work at the casino netted us $82,000! Awesome. This will put us in a pretty good financial position until the next casino scheduled for us in early 2007.
Anyways, tomorrow night is the Roger Sanchez show at Tantra. I'm so excited that he's coming back. It's been almost two years since I've seen the S-Man, and it's gonna be a great show.
Wednesday, November 2nd - the S-Man is Here!
Thursday night is Mychael Maier's individual showcase opening at Quab Gallery. I know I can't really afford any new art, but I LOVE Mychaels stuff (check out the Quab site). He does amazing lighting and shadowing on male nude torsos that is incredible. I want to see what they have on show of his, plus I'll get to visit with Jerome, Bruce, and Jim, all of whom I haven't seen in a long time.
Then, Friday is the Synergy AGM and Dinner at Cadence. It will be nice to have a catered dinner, and even nicer that Joe and I aren't hosting the annual Synergy Hootenanny this year. Too much work, especially after Joe's b-day party. I must be getting old. Not sure where Friday night will lead us.
I have to curl with Queer Eye for the Cute Guy again on Saturday, and we're attempting the stupid domain controller production tests again this weekend. Gross. At least the only redeeming thing is that it's not scheduled for the Remembrance Day long weekend when Sarathena is here, Jeff is having his fondue party, Jon is having is lounge party, and Felix da Housecat is playing the Whiskey on Thursday. Oh, and yeah, it's a four-day work week! Woo-hoo!
That's all for now. I have to get into accountant-for-the-evening-mode.

Huh...(open mouth breathing and drool). I think I need a dicksionary to figgur out this guy.
Yeah. Kevin was a sweetie. I really should have worked harder on getting you guys hooked up. Oh well, there's always the next girls weekend in Vancouver to look forward to, no?
Why did you have to tell me that Roger Sanchez is coming to town tomorrow?! You know I have a midterm the following day at 8AM? Damn this dilema.
CK
Roger will be back. Come to Felix da Housecat next Thursday!
I look like crap in that photo! I'll post my Willy Wonka photos on my blog. I really need to get a camera since everyone else has a picture of me but I don't have any.
I agree that Jon guy is really cute! But then again, I'm rather bias on that subject.
Hee hee! (Blush!)
