Roger Dodger

Urgh...so tired...can't...concentrate...on...work.

Roger Sanchez was great last night. Patrick, Joe and myself got to Tantra around 11pm and Roger was already playing. The first couple of hours of his set consisted of VERY progressive house -- something I completely did not expect from him (I think he may have been tipped off that the Calgary crowd likes it's dance music a little harder -- no appreciation for deep house here at all!). Of course, by the time we were ready to leave around 2pm, things were just starting to get energetic and his music was starting to sound more and more like classic S-Man - soulful and sexy. The crowd, albeit small (no big surprise there - it's Calgary after all), was right into the groove and enjoying the unfolding of the sounds. He made attempts to crescendo the music into peaks during the progressive part of the show, but this is a pretty difficult (possibly futile) thing to do with deep house.

Anyhoo, good time had by all. Despite the humungous blisters on my feet from running earlier this week, I managed to stay on the dancefloor all night and am not paying too high of a price today. Only tired. I might skip out of work early today and have a nap before heading to Quab.

Oh yeah - here is the official track listing of the "Hung Up" remix CD/vinyl, scheduled out on Nov 14. The single is officially released on Monday (7th).
